Message from Principal Lagnese

Dear Parents/Guardians of Public School 135Q:

It is my pleasure to welcome you and your children back to Public School 135Q, The Bellaire School, for the 2016-17 school year! I am excited to hear about all of the interesting things your family has done over the summer.  The teachers have been working diligently over the summer planning lessons, participating in Professional Development and preparing the classrooms for their students. The custodial staff has been working around the clock to get the building ready for your child’s arrival.  The anticipation and excitement is building as we do our last bit of planning for September 8th.

At The Bellaire School we believe that the home-school connection is very powerful. We welcome open communication. There are many ways you can communicate with us. As the Principal, I have an Open Door policy. You may come in and ask to see me or any member of the Administrative Team at any time. You can email, call or write a letter. Every Tuesday afternoon from 2:30PM to 3:30PM is our dedicated Parent Engagement timeframe. If you would like to set up an appointment with your child’s teacher, please contact the teacher by Emailing, calling or sending a note via your child’s backpack.  Please contact the teacher ahead of time so that the teacher can schedule his/her meetings accordingly.

In an effort to make the home –school connection more efficient, Public School 135Q has a website https://ps135q.wordpress.com a Twitter account @29q135 and a mass email list to keep all of our community members updated with all the events that are occurring at our school.  Please visit the website on a daily basis as we are going Green. All notices and school events will be posted on the website and sent via email. The monthly calendar and School Menu, for example, are located on the school website.  We want to continue to build the Email list so please stop by Mr. Lopez’s office to give him your current email address.
