Embracing Diversity on International Day of Acceptance, January 20th

Posted January 20th, 2016

Changing the world’s perception of people with disabilities is a task that the late Annie Hopkins had when she launched 3ELove with her brother, Stevie Hopkins in 2007. 3ELove is a social entrepreneurial experiment designed to change the perception of disability. The company’s trademarked International Symbol of Acceptance (the wheelchair heart logo) is a driving visual force of its mission to “Embrace Diversity. Educate your community. Empower each other. Love life.”

What is International Day of Acceptance?

IDOA is celebrated annually on January 20th. After experiencing discrimination and watching her peers and role models  with disabilities face similar difficulties on a daily basis, Annie banded together with her brother to unify people and ignite conversations that would help cause a social change for the better. Annie’s story is an incredible testament to her determined and resilient spirit to make a difference in the world.
